Memories of KK trip 2008 + Merdeka performance 2008

Sry for the late update about the KK trip. I just got the photo disc from Joseph yesterday which I almost forgot all about it until Mr. Kenny Liong passed the disc to him & later Joseph passed it to me. Thx for the reminder of the disc, Mr. Liong or I'll never have the time to blog about it. I know this post is very late 'cuz I've been super busy these days with all the homeworks, tests, revisions, tuitions & the preparation for the coming mock exam & I also can't resist to post it. I'll try to rmb what I've did during the KK trip as much as possible, so let the story begin:

On the 17th May 2008, the Form 5 Science classes (Forms 5B & 5C) of Lodge went to a 4 days 3 nights trip to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah accompanied with the 2 teachers, Mr. Kenny Liong & Ms. Felicia Siaw. We departed from Kuching Internatonal Airport on the early morning flight in anticipation of the trip to come.

In the airport before departing,
Ashley Ho, Alyssa Chua, Crystabelle, Ashley Lee & I at the airbridge before boarding into the airplane

Ashley Lee & I. DAMN, I look so retard here & really hate that brown spot next to my left eyebrow. -___-" According to my mum, she told me that the brown spot I had was actually a scar from my mosquito bite since I was a baby, in which I thought it was a birthmark throughout these years. That scar has been there for years already & I've been using lots dark spot treatments to remove it, but failed. I wish there's a special treatment or a special cream or anything to remove that stupid fugly spot I had right now.

During the flight, I was really bored so I only managed to read Going Places. Wanna sleep but couldn't so I just ended up chatting with Mr. Liong about random stuffs since I sat next to him. Some were chatting throughout the entire flight, some took pics of themselves to kill off their bordom & others were sleeping until we landed at the KK International Airport which is still under construction for renovation & it will be completed by next year, I think. On arrival, we collected our luggages & headed straight to the Sutera Harbour to go to Manukan Island.

In the bus, we met our tour guide, Mr. Li & our driver, Mr. Lo, in which Ashley Lee combined both of their surnames to become LiLo! =P What a great observant he is, I should give him a credit for that... haha XDThat's Mr. Li over there who's wearing an orange shirt & the army-printed shorts. He looks ok but I hate to say that his English is terrible. He had mentioned some things lyk firefries (fireflies), ereven o' crock (eleven o' clock), stoking (snorkling), Kinabaru (Kinabalu) & lots more. I was laughing my head off but quietly 'cuz I don't wanna be rude in front of him.

During the boat ride to Manukan Island,Hui Ching, Alyssa Chua, Ashley Ho & I. CRAP! I look so retarded & stoned lyk a ventriloquist's doll. O__O"The view of the island & the boat

Upon arrival at Manukan Island, we headed straight to have our lunch at the barbeque corner & boy, look at Mr. Liong's group with the amount of food they had...The beasts ate & ate & ate...until a few minutes later, the amount of shells were piling up!

After lunch, we went snorkling. I had a lot of fun snorkling though & the sea was rough after that when I went back. My feet were hurting from those rocks & shells in the water. The water is so salty until I had a lil' bit of allergic reaction on my lips. Winston ended up having rashes all over, while Matthew & Aaron Tan had fever & food poisoning for eating too much seafood.

Before heading back to Sutera Harbour,Nice poses everyone!! ^_^Groupie at the jetty before heading back to Sutera HarbourJoyce feeling emo, I guess? o.OThe fishes in the waterThe last view of Manukan Island

On the way back to Sutera Harbour,The view of the mountain or the island? I'm not sure about that.Nice smile. =DAlyssa Chua "getting annoyed" while Joseph was taking pics of everyone... haha =PNice smile, Joel. =D Tyrone's mowhawk & the expression on his face are so priceless! LOL! =P

I wonder what's Winston & Eugene looking at... & Tyrone screaming in pain whilst having a big scratch on his arm, I s'pose? =P

We then went to Shangri-La Hotel to check in & had dinner at Kampung Nelayan. After dinner, there was a cultural dance show but we didn't watch it. Instead, we walked around the restaurant to see its surroundings. The view of the Kampung NelayanOn the other side of Kampung Nelayan, we saw a swimming pool where you can do all sorts of activities while swimming. Sry for the blurness though. You can play the waterball or the whatever ball in this poolThe big swan where Phoebe was standing next to it. I guess the swan can make it into a fun ride especially where the couple sit next to each other during Valentine's Day in movies... don't you think so?Groupie before heading to the busUs with Ms. Siaw. CRAP, I look lyk an alien in this pic. o___O"

After dinner, we went back to the hotel, while some of them went to Centrepoint. Nothing much happened though. I had a good sleep I guess.

On day 2, Ashley Ho & I woke up at around 6:45a.m., had our breakfast & called my aunty to bring us both to the Sunday Market. I didn't buy anything though but Ashley Ho ended up buying a cowboy hat, a wooden crocodile & a wooden owl. Overall the trip to the Sunday Market was ok. After that, my aunty drove us back to the hotel & all of us went to the Kinabalu National Park. We stopped at the remote pekan along the way. Not sure what's its name though.Phoebe & Joyce standing next to the gigantic pineapple statue outside the pekanAt the pekan, there are some shops selling handicrafts & groceries (not in the pic) & also a place for you to view the mountains.View of the mountainsNot sure what's this flower called Beautiful pink flowers outside the pekan

After that, all of us proceeded to the Kinabalu National Park & then headed straight to Kinabalu Pine Resorts to have our lunch.Yellow-orange orchids at the Kinabalu National Park
Don't know what's the name of this flower though & sry for the blurnessGroupie at the Kinabalu National ParkMr. Liong & Ms. Siaw crossing the suspension bridgeGroupie before going to Kinabalu Pine Resorts for lunchKK's very own One Tree HillView of the mountains from Kinabalu Pine ResortsTime for us to go & have our lunch!

Halfway during my lunch, I started to feel sick as I had stomachache & a feeling of throwing up. So I ended up not being able to finish my lunch since I lost my appetite. I hate to waste food but my sickness prevented me from doing so. Despite of being sick, I still have the energy to enjoy myself before leaving Kinabalu Pine Resorts. Joel being "naughty" bullying Dexter... hehe =PThe pretty flowers at the Kinabalu Pine ResortUs before leaving Kinabalu Pine Resorts

After that, all of us head back to the hotel until Mr. Li wanted us to shop at Warisan Square. Along the way, we stopped at a certain area where he allowed us to buy the delicious chicken from the stalls. I didn't go down to buy them though 'cuz I was sick at that time. The sunset at Warisan SquareJoel, Phoebe & Peggy posing as the Kadazandusuns

Nothing much happened after coming back to the hotel, so that's it for day 2.

On the 3rd day, we were only free for half of the day where I went out with my 2 aunts to shop at Warisan Square. I went back to the hotel around 11:40a.m. & later, all of us went to Tanjung Aru for lunch. Our tour guide this time was Pak Cik Hassan & I must say that he's a nice & a friendly person. After lunch, some went to the beach to do the typical jumps & took pics of themselves.View of the Tanjung Aru Beach

After that, we headed straight to the Wetland in Weston to see some monkeys in our cruise for 2.5 hours. The villages in WestonGroupie during the boat ride

After that, we had our tea break at the isolated jetty. I didn't eat anything though but only drank 2 cups of tea to quench my thirst. Nothing much happened there so we then continued our journey of searching the probiscus monkeys after our tea break.Nice pose, Peggy. =) Ashley Ho looks so blur here & it looks as if she wants to take her tops off... haha =P The pneumatophoresThe 3 monkeys sitting on a tree. Just in case you can't see the monkeys in this pic, here's the clearer view of them getting down from the tree.A bat flying in the skyA monkey playing on a treeJoel, Phoebe & Brian posing as "Charlie's Angels"Brian with his 'cool' pose & Ashley Ho looks lyk a bunny here... haha =PCan't rmb who took this pic & Ms. Siaw looked sleepy while Joyce dozed off. I forgot what I was doing over there back then.Ashley Ho looks so cute here...makes me wanna pinch her... haha =P BTW, that guy in the white shirt is actually Pak Cik Hassan which I had mentioned earlier. The beautiful sunset in WestonUs having fun during the ride. DAMN, I look lyk a donkey in this pic...NGEEHAW. -___-"Dexter & Ashley Lee doing the "Titanic" pose

After that, we went back to the isolated jetty to have our dinner & then headed back to the hotel.Hui Ching looks "weird" here & Phoebe looked "sleepy"... LOL

Nth much happened in the hotel except for Ashley Ho & I being sick in our room, so that's the end of our 3rd day.

On the last day of our trip, we had our whole morning free to do our packing & last minute shopping. After checking out, we headed straight to the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park to see some animals. Later, we all went to the local kopitiam & the supermarket to have our afternoon break. The 2 cockatoosA green parrot eating a papayaDeers, I think... which reminds me of BambiElephants defecatingSun bears playing2 tigers resting under a treeJoel, Phoebe, Ashley Lee & Mr. Liong doing the fake happy smile & boy, they look lyk a ventriloquist's doll. o__o"Racoons & again, sry for the blurnessA lady riding a bike with her orang utanThe probiscus monkey in the glass cage, I thinkA horse or a cow? Then, all of us headed straight to the airport to return to our hometown. Mr. Liong & Ms. Siaw playing the Cantonese game, I think. Here's a video of them (below) playing their game while waiting for our flight...

A video of Joel & Mr. Liong playing the slapping game

During the flight, I felt very sick as I had diarrhea & vomitting before our flight. I didn't do anything much except sleeping throughout the entire flight, while some were chatting, taking pics of themselves & sleeping as usual until we landed at the Kuching International Airport.Dexter & Joel with their "Charlie's Angels" pose while me (in the green T-shirt) rushing to the toilet Final groupie before heading back to our home

Overall, the trip was fun & great for me although my sickness had ruined parts of my trip where I ended up having food poisoning when I reached home. This is the best & the most memorable trip ever as this was our final field trip of the year. Now it's the time for us to concentrate for the coming exam & hope that this memory will last forever in my heart. I'd also lyk to thank my aunties who were kind enough to bring me to the Sunday Market & Warisan Square & hope to see you soon when I came back. You can check more details about our trip in Ashley L's blog, so read more about it yea.

Oh yea, yesterday was our school's merdeka performance with every classes of Forms 1, 2 & 4 presenting each of their performances to compete each other. I have to say that this year's Form 4B has done a very tremendous job of putting such an interesting & funny performance & they ended up becoming the winner of the year. Last year, our class also did an excellent job of putting up a funny performance, but we ended up did not win anything 'cuz I think Ms. Ng told me that my class's performance did not have the appropriate title for our play if I'm not mistaken. I was very disappointed at 1st, but I have to accept it no matter if we win or not but I'll keep my class's performance as my memories. Their play was awesome & funny where I laughed my head off when I watched it. You can watch the video of their performance in Andy's blog when you're bored to cheer yourself up, so enjoy!

Beijing Olympics closing ceremony 2008

The Beijing Olympics 2008 has come to an end & this is where its closing ceremony was held last night on the 24/08/2008. The closing ceremony was fascinating with Leona Lewis, Wang Lee Hom, Jacky Chan, Andy Lau & the other singers & the dancers performing in the Bird's Nest stadium. Fireworks ignite over the Bird's Nest stadium
Leona Lewis singing with Jimmy Page as the guitarist & David Beckham as the guest where they represented their country as a host for London Olympics 2012 Performers riding the big & round bicycleThe drummers performing during the closing ceremony...what a big drum they had & I wonder who has such a great strength to carry it

Overall, China has the most gold medals followed by US & Russia, while US has the largest total number of medals followed by China & Russia. It was worth watching it & hope that the next Olympics will be as good as this year's. Oh yea, thx for the b'day card, Chang Mien...=) Now's the time for me concentrate on my coming SPM mock exam although I still have the "Olympic Syndrome" as I'm still addicted to it.
