It's been ages since I last blogged. Sorry for the lack of updates everyone because I'm too lazy & hence, lack of motivation to blog. So today, I'm taking this opportunity to update my blog once again... hehe =)

As some of you may know, today is my late friend, Aaron Teo's 1st anniversary. I never realised time flies so fast until I marked my calendar. Looking back at my life in high school, the memories of him are still fresh in my mind. I remember the times where he used to call me "ang mo" & his funny singing to the Black Eyed Peas song, "Where Is The Love?". Besides that, he's also friendly & helpful to everyone around him. I never regret making friends with him although he can be a lil' bit mischievous & naughty at times.

I'm a person of few words though. Dude, if you are reading this, I just wanna say that you're a cherished friend & all the memoirs of you will never be forgotten. I'm sure you're happy & having a good time up there. Take care & miss you lots.

Happy new year, 2010!!!

The year 2009 has finally come to an end & now, it's time for us to move on to our new year, 2010. Today's the new beginning for us, so we should forget whatever we had done in our past and start afresh. I don't really have much resolutions for myself though, but here are a few that I'm going to list:

1. Be more hardworking
2. Do more exercises (Go to the gym & do some yoga)
3. Learn some dance moves especially ballroom (If possible, I also wanna learn hip hop, jazz & contemporary as well.)
4. Be more outgoing (Make more new friends)
5. Be more active in co curriculum activities
6. Don't procrastinate too much
7. Update my blog more often whenever I can
8. Learn a new languauge especially French (I also wanna learn Dutch, Italian, Spanish, German & Portugese as well if can.)

I guess that's all for my resolutions since I can't think of more. Finally, I wanna wish everyone a very happy new year & may all of your dreams come true. =D

Amélie + Happy b'day, Danielle Zoe!

2 days ago, my coursemates & I were watching Amélie during Context And Culture class. Mr. Azuar allowed us watch it from his laptop to see some paintings by Renoir & the other artist (which I forgot his/ her name) in the movie. FYI, the language for this movie is French & I was kinda relieved that he put the English subtitles so that I can understand what Amélie is all about. Amélie is a story of a shy waitress who decides to change the lives of those around her for the better, while struggling with her own isolation. The main actress is Audrey Tautou, who played as the main character in this movie. I won't talk much about Amélie 'cuz otherwise I'll become a spoiler to those who haven't watch it. You can just log on to Wikipedia or any encylopedia websites if you wanna know more about this movie.

And also, I'd like to wish D. Zoe a very happy 18th b'day today. Enjoy your college life, b'day girl & hope you have a nice day. =)

Waterfront trip 2009

3 days ago on the April 28th, I went to Waterfront with my Context And Culture coursemates & Mr. Azuar (who's my lecturer for this subject). We walked everywhere around the Waterfront area to do some stuffs like "Amazing Race" (except from the fact that instead of finding the answers in pairs, we do it in groups so that none of of us will get lost in Waterfront), tracing some surfaces onto our drawing papers (forgot what its term was called), visiting the Chinese History museum & having tea breaks. The weather was so freaking hot until I sweated my butt off, but overall I had a lot of fun during the trip. Here are the pics I took during the trip...

That's all the pics I had in my camera. I may look sakai since I took so much pics of the scenery 'cuz the last time I went to Waterfront was when I was about 5 to 6 years old & that was like around 12 to 13 years ago. Overall, it has been a great trip for me & my coursemates as well to relax ourselves from all the stress we had during our lectures & tutorials. Gotta stop here right now to do my Innovation And Change tutorial activities & answer some questions from my English passage. Toodles.

Earth Day 2009

As some of you may not know, today's the big day of Earth Day where it was designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment. Using the 5Rs above, let's celebrate it by planting more trees, reducing the use of plastic bags, car pooling/ cycling and buying green products like the energy-saving compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) to prevent golbal warming in the upcoming years.

Memories of "No Apologies" workshop 2007

Just finished sitting for my General Maths test this morning. The General Maths test for Chapter 1 is easy as that chapter was a revision from what I had learnt from SPM, whereas the Chapter 2 is medium as I'm still a lil' confused with the Business Maths. Overall, the test is ok so hopefully I can pass with flying colours.

Since I'm now taking a break from doing my Innovation And Change tutorial activities & English report, I decided to blog about the memories I had during the "No Apologies" workshop in my high school which was held on the 1st & 2nd November 2007. FYI, all the students of Form 4 in my high school must attend the workshop or we will be punished RM12 if we escaped. This workshop is a character-based abstinence curriculum that helps young people to make wise choices regarding high-risk behaviour, including sexual involvement before marriage.

Tyrone reciting a funny poem written by Matthew

My group's (consisting of Brian Eddy, Clement, Eugene, Franklin, Ashley Ho, Chang Mien, Danielle Zoe & I) play where Eugene played as a drunk driver who wanted to bring the passengers home after their party. I forgot what's the scenario in my group's play since I can't really hear what Danielle Zoe was saying. I looked & acted like a retard in the play since there's no script & I have no idea why my voice sounds deeper in this video. =.= Although it's not as funny as it seems, at least we manage to entertain the audience since we had just finished sitting for our final term exam.

This one is the funniest & the most hilarious play among all the groups. This group consists of Lawrence, Matthew, Tyrone, Rachel, Samantha Pian & Shi Yin. The scenario for their play is "Your BF/ GF has invite you to his/ her house after school. He/ she tells you that his/ her mother is home but when you arrived, you find that no one is in the house but you & your BF/ GF.". Tyrone played as a naughty character and Matthew played as the good one, while the rest played as the props.

The past few days

My life in Swinburne KCH so far is alright. Although there's not much to talk about it, there's at least some Lodgians, a few of my old tution friends & my ex-schoolmate from my elementary school I met there like Agnes, Kelly, Hui Na, Sheryl, Charlene, Nadia, Andre, Joel, Desmond, Frederick, Ambrose, Morgan, Jeffrey, Norman, Wayne, Moses & Samson (just to name these few). Been busy with my Innovation And Change assignment for the past few days & I've just finished it yesterday as I had already passed it up. After the Innovation And Change assignment, I'll be having my General Maths test tomorrow from 10:00a.m. to 11:30a.m. & my English report to do this weekend which I have to pass it up on next Friday.

It's been 9 days since Aaron Teo's death & I had just recovered from my trauma. Looking back at my life in Lodge reminds me the ups & downs I had endured for the past 5 years. I now appreciate my life more despite the depression I had in Form 1. As what William Shakespeare had said in "Life's Brief Candle", life is short like a candle which can only be spent for a fixed period of time. 99 Balloons + Easter Sunday 2009

Just recently watched Oprah from Hallmark channel on TV where tonight's episode is about the miracle kids around the world. The guest appearance in this episode is Celine Dion, who had published a book about the 12 amazing kids who are heroes in their life. One of the audiences found a very touching story in Youtube & it's called "99 Balloons". The 99 balloons represents the last 99 days of a baby called Eliot, who was born with an undeveloped lung, a hole in the heart and a genetic disorder called Trisomy 18 (a.k.a. Edwards syndrome) that placed faulty information into each and every cell of his body. Although Eliot can't talk since he died when he was only 99 days old, it's just so amazing & touching to see that his parents are so responsible, loving & caring to him but it's just sad for me to see him died at such a young age. I knew you when I came to Lodge in Form 1

Where we became classmates until Form 3.

Little did I know that you used to called me "ang mo",

In which I find that it silly & funny since I'm half Chinese & half Eurasian.

Although you can be naughty & mischievous at times,

You're helpful & friendly to help everyone out.

Although I seldom talk to you in class & in school since I'm the quiet one,

It doesn't matter 'cuz I accept you as a forgiving & kind friend of mine.

I thought I was dreaming when I received the tragic news from my family & my friends 'cuz it's just so unreal. I feel empty & heart-broken when I see sadness in blogs, Facebook & MSN. I'm still in disbelief, speechless, traumatised, grieving & mourning with the fact that you're gone 'cuz it's just too devastating, shocking & sad for me to think & talk about it.

I have so much regrets in my life. I regret not spending my time to get to know more about you when we were in high school. It just makes me realised how important friendship is in our life.

I'd like to say thanks to you for being such a great friend to everyone & just being yourself. I'm so sorry that I wouldn't be able to see you for the last time with your family & the rest of your friends tomorrow. You'll be deeply missed by everyone & may you rest in peace, my friend. God bless you.

Why teachers are so stressed?

I just recently received this e-mail from Shi Yin & I find it interesting & funny.

This Peter guy literally "expand" the equation by expanding the size of the gap. LOL! =D

This person gave a ridiculous answer to the 2nd question since the 1st differentiation question is equal to infinity where the infinity symbol is the shape of a side way rotated "8". He/ she must be "smart" enough to literally rotate the "5" to give the answer equal to "infinity". A "limited edition" of the infinity symbol, I s'pose? LOL! =P

So easy-peasy, no need to use Pythagoras's Theorem to find the length of hypotenuse. LOL! XD

I bet my Maths teacher will kill me if I do that. o.o"

Wow, this equation actually makes perfect sense! LOL! =D

Earth Hour 2009

As you all know, today's the BIG day of Earth Hour. Let's celebrate it together by switching off our lights at 8:30 p.m. for 1 hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change.

In Swinburne KCH + Happy belated b'day, Ashley Ho!

I'm currently in Swinburne KCH having Context And Culture class in the Computer Lab. Since I'm having a short break right now from the fact that my Context And Culture class is 4 hours today, I'm taking this opportunity to spend my time blogging rather than being bored doing nothing. BTW, I had just started my Foundation In Design course 4 days ago, which was on Monday (March 23rd). I can't talk much about my life in college yet 'cuz it's only my 1st week. The 5 subjects I take in my course (excluding M'sian studies & Moral studies 'cuz I'm not sure when they're gonna start these 2 subjects) are English And Communication Skills (Part 1 'cuz it's my 1st semester & will be having Part 2 on the 2nd semester.), Information Technology, General Maths, Innovation And Change, & lastly, Context And Culture (mainly for Design students). BTW, I did not choose to take 5 subjects for myself 'cuz these subjects are actually compulsory for my course. The same number of subjects goes to the other 3 foundation courses (Engineering/ Science, Business & IT/ Multimedia). Heard that the M'sian studies & the Moral studies will start on this November for the March intake Foundation students, not sure whether I got the facts right or not, so I need to ask the Admin Counter for more info. This week in college is basically about introduction to the subjects & the new students from various schools. FYI, I'm in the same class with Charlene, Desmond & Wayne in Innovation And Change, which was kinda surprising to me. Well...at least there are a few Lodgians in my class, then I'm happy about it. I'll be having General Maths exam on the April 18th, gotta study hard to get at least a credit 'cuz I don't wanna resit for failed subjects. Resiting for a failed subject is expensive where it costs you around hundred bucks, & it also wastes your time to repeat your failed subject where you're s'pose to go to the next level (if you know what I mean).

Finally, I'd also like to wish Ashley H a Happy Belated 18th b'day since her real b'day is on the March 25th. Hope you have a nice day, b'day girl. =)

Orientation at Swinburne KCH

Just had my orientation in Swinburne KCH yesterday & this morning. The orientation overall is ok. Yesterday's orientation was about ice-breaking where you get to make some new friends in your group. My group is Group 2 BTW & there are 10 groups altogether. I made around 3 new friends (where 1 of them is taking the same course as me) & they are friendly. I saw Moses, Samson & Hui Na during the orientation yesterday. I breathed in a sigh of relief after seeing these 3 Lodgians who are with me where at least I'm not the only Lodgian who attend this orientation. There was a break at 10:00 a.m., I didn't drink & eat anything though 'cuz I wasn't thirsty or hungry. The facilitators then showed us the way to our classes, library, bookstore, multipurpose hall, the 3 cafeterias & stuffs. After the orientation, I saw Ambrose, Desmond & Frederick who had just came back from the multipurpose hall. We only greeted each other while waiting for my mum to pick me up. Nothing much happened after that & I went home getting a nap in my cosy bed. So that was the end of Day 1's orientation.

Today's orientation is about signing up for clubs & societies, doing aerobic exercises, playing some games & getting our time tables. I have to admit that the aerobic exercises for today's orientation is awkward where we did the exercises with 1 of the childish songs, which is Doraemon. I'm not being mean or insulting them or anything, it's just that doing exercises with this childish song is just so awkward for me. At 1st, I'd expect the aerobic exercises would be just a simple stretching without any music...but I was wrong. When the Doraemon song was played, my mind was like "WHAT THE HECK IS THIS CRAP SONG PLAYING ON THE STEREO??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? WE'RE GONNA DO THESE EXERCISES WITH THIS CHILDISH SONG? YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS ABOUT THAT!!!" I didn't really do much though 'cuz my muscles are tired, so I only did a few parts of the exercises where it doesn't involve the whole body movement. After the aerobic exercises, it was time for the group to gather themselves for the upcoming games. 1 of the games is Blindfold where 3 persons are selected from each group to become a "devil" or a distractor for the other group. The people who are not selected will be given a blindfold to blindfold themselves & they all have put their hands to grab the person's (in front of them) shoulders to form a "human train". BTW, you must not let go of the person's (in front of you) shoulders, or else the people behind you & yourself will be lost. The facilitators from each group & the 3 distractors will then lead their group to some places within Swinburne & they must be back in the multipurpose hall after 15 minutes. I wasn't selected so I was blindfolded during the game. To tell you the truth, the cloth was kinda thin so I still can see through my blindfold since I opened my eyes throughout this game. I know I had cheated in this game, but who cares? After Blindfold, the next & the final game is where you have to think of a way to prevent the egg from breaking when you drop it. We are given a thin colour paper, 8 sheets of blank A4 papers, 5 rubber bands, a set of 10 magic pens, 10 straws & of course, an egg. For my group, we wrapped the egg with around 6 straws & then wrap it up again with all of the 8 A4 blank papers until the egg looks more like a dinosaur egg. The guys then took the whole set of magic pens & built them into a "tent". After the "tent" was done, we put the "dinosaur egg" into the "tent" & eventually wrap it around again with lots of cellotape. 18 minutes has passed, all the groups went out from the multipurpose hall & each group leader were asked to go to the 1st floor of this hall to drop their eggs. After the experiment, we were asked to open everything up to see whether any of the group's egg broke. 2 of the group's egg were broken & luckily enough, my group is not 1 of them so that was a relief. After the game, I went there with Vanessa to Chili Peppers to have our lunch. FYI, Chili Peppers is 1 of Swinburne's cafeteria & it's located somewhere in front of the student's hostel. After lunch, it was time for signing up for clubs & societies. I signed up for Japanese language, dance & drama. The good thing about Swinburne's dance club is that it's mainly focused on teaching hip hop, which I had always wanted to learn so much after I had discovered my interest in doing hip hop dancing during Ashley L's party last year & also after watching SYTYCD (Australia) during my Brisbane trip last month. As I was signing the dance club form, 1 of the questions asked me about the types of dances I'm interested to learn. I wrote "hip hop, ballroom, contemporary & jazz" 'cuz I find these dances interesting. After that, I chatted with Samson for a while when all of a sudden, a tall guy in a black shirt with yellow collar who is one of the person in charge for the drama club registration, appeared right in front of me & Samson, started talking to him. At 1st, my mind was like "Who is this guy anyway all of a sudden appear right in front of us & talking to Samson?". When that guy turned his head to look at me, you'll never guess who he is...he's a Lodgian & my classmate in Forms 4 & 5...& he's JOEL!!! I was like "OMG Joel, is it really you? Is it true that you are 1 of the members of the drama club? I didn't even know that you're studying at Swinburne..." & things like that. We chat for a few minutes & Joel left after that to do his duty at the drama club registration. It was unbelievable to meet my ex-classmate in Swinburne & I just feel so happy about it. FYI, if you sign up for a club in Swinburne, it doesn't mean that you are the member of the club. You need to go for meetings to check when is the perfect time to hold the club that you had just sign up so that it wouldn't clash with yours & the others' time table. You can drop out from the club if it really clashes with your busy schedule. Then at about 3:30 p.m., it was time for all of the new students to go to the auditorium to get our time tables. After getting my time table, I saw Morgan & Joel getting out from the lift & we just greeted each other while waiting for my mum. Then, it was time for me to head home to get some nap in my cosy bed & that was the end of my orientation in Swinburne KCH.

My class starts on this coming Monday & I have no idea how I'm going to start my new life in college since it's my 1st year. I'm feeling nervous & excited at the same time & hopefully my college life will be as good as my high school life or better than that, so fingers crossed.

Back from S'pore (2)

Just came back from S'pore yesterday afternoon. No pics taken BTW 'cuz I didn't bring my camera. Even if I had brought my camera, there's nothing interesting to take any pics there since I only went there to do some shopping. FYI, I went to S'pore on Sunday (March 15th) & stayed there for 4 days 3 nights. Here's an article about the 35 straight As scorers of Lodge in SPM 2008 I read in Borneo Post (March 15th) before I leave to the airport...Only Yasmin (left) & Chang Mien's (right) have their individual pics from the Great Wall photoshoot last year posted up in the Borneo Post since both of them took 12 subjects where they took 1 additional subject of their own & scored straight A1s, whereas the other 16 straight A1s scorers only have their names posted up since they didn't take any additional subject.

Will be going for Swinburne KCH's orientation tomorrow & on Saturday. Not sure how's the orientation gonna be like though & hopefully it will turn out ok, so fingers crossed.
